WORKS ON REPURPOSED MATERIALS
COLLECTING USED MATERIALS
Why ?
This is a step I have taken to reduce my personal impact on our environment. I use denim destined for our landfills instead of newly produced canvas.

WASHING THE MATERIALS
All the denim I use goes through an antibacterial wash and hot iron to ensure the denim is super clean and ready for painting.

PREPARING THE PAINTING SURFACE
Pieces of denim are cut to shape and sewn together.
The denim is stretched over wooden frames as I usually would canvas.
The denim is then primed with undercoat and ready to go !

PAINTING !
These pieces are created with acrylic paint. Some also use oil paint and oil stick.
The seams of the denim pieces are deliberately visible to add to the texture and composition of the finished works.
